Circo Aereo: Hetki, 55
Circo Aereo’s multi-arts performance piece Hetki, 55 ponders on the mystery of existence and the momentariness of life, through painting, movement and humour. Under Sanna Silvennoinen’s direction, comedian-dancer Johanna Keinäinen, visual artist Eveliina Hämäläinen and circus artist Mika Kaski contort bodies and narratives, blend and bend reality and abstractness to create an ethereal, dreamlike fiction on stage.
Circo Aereo is Finland’s first and oldest active contemporary circus group. Their art and performances have played a central role in the development of contemporary circus as an individual art form in Finland in the 2000s.
The group has performed thousands of shows in over 40 countries on five continents, and in 2009 they received the Suomi-award for arts. Their vision is to extend the possibilities of circus as a performing art, and they work actively with object and physical theatre artists, visual artists, dancers and musicians.
