Irti Päästä Mistä
If we life as we breathe, taking and releasing, we cannot make mistakes. It is the circle of life: take, learn, let go, accept, move forward. It is natural. We must accept it and carry it out in our daily lives.
Irti Päästä Mistä is circus artist Vesa Purokuru’s second nonverbal solo piece which combines physical theatre and puppet theatre. The piece describes separation: a journey of regeneration on a deeply embodied level, where love, sorrow, bitterness and fear live. On their painful journey, the main character must confront both their changing relationship and themself. The other main character in the piece is an aerial acrobatic puppet by Elina Sarno.
Purokuru’s first monologue Veitsenterällä premiered in Jyväskylä Festival in 2016. The piece was performed more than 40 times, and was included e.g. in the seasonal programme of Cirko – Centre for New Circus.
