The beginning of the 1960s in stylish Manhattan, New York. Ben visits Lucy in order to propose, but is hindered by the ever loud and focus-stealing two-headed monster: the telephone. La Kala Opera brings their adaptation of Gian Carlo Menotti’s comical opera on stage in Äänekoski.

Menotti’s beautiful music, inspired by Mozart, flows divinely, as Amor and Cupid play their tricks on the lovers. Will Ben’s proposal attempts eventually succeed? Through an adventure of love and mishaps, the audience is welcomed as guests in Lucy and Ben’s engagement party!
