- Performative art
Vähin äänin
Vähin äänin is an exceptional piece of art, which through heart-wrenching choir music, powerful dance and impactful speeches by a docent of conservation biology raises the question: what is your role in the change?
Vähin äänin discusses the crushing weight of awareness of the biodiversity crisis, Earth’s sixth mass extinction. Nature is beautiful, nature is important to us, and by changing our ways, by protecting and restoring we can slow down its disappearance. This honest but hopeful performance delights, petrifies and inspires.
The piece is a collaborative project between Jyväskylä University’s Katoava luonto -project, dance group Off/Balance, Jyväskylä City Theatre and Ruamjai choir. The piece is funded by Kone Foundation, Arts Promotion Centre Finland, The Finnish Cultural Foundation and the City of Jyväskylä.
